Shawano Area Writers began sponsoring a scholarship program in 2018 for high school seniors planning to attend college and earn a degree in journalism, creative writing or a similar field. Our first recipient was Morgan Fregien, who was presented with a check for $1,000 at a luncheon in her honor on Thursday, June 21st.

Shawano and Menominee county high school students who will be seniors during the 2018-’19 school year are eligible for the scholarship. Guidelines are available at shawanoareawriters.org.
