Attention teachers, parents, and students: The Shawano Area Writers will be handing out Certificates of Achievements, cash prizes, and copies of a current Writer’s Digest Magazine to the winning students of the George Putz Memorial Writing Contest at the Mielke Arts Center, N5649 N. Airport Road, Shawano, at 1:00 p.m. on May 21, 2023. All children attending can sign up for door prizes, which are autographed books for each grade group (you do not have to be a winning student writer to sign up for a door prize). Teachers can also sign up for a door prize book. Also of importance: There will be a large bowl of candy for the kids. Please email us if we have misspelled your name so we can get it right on your certificate.

             The public is welcome to attend this family event, which lasts about an hour.
